Political groups in the European Parliament bring together MEPs from different Member States who share a common vision of the European Union. The idea that guided us almost a decade ago, when we decided to establish the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR), was to develop a Union that respects national interests and the values that underpin it.
And so it is to this day. For the good of the Community, the European Parliament needs a strong alternative to the dominant federalist trend represented by the largest political groups more than ever.
Our concept of the future Union is gaining increasing support in Europe. The ECR is currently the third largest grouping in the European Parliament.
We consistently strive to reform the EU guided by the principle of Eurorealism, while respecting the sovereignty of the Member States.
