
Anna Zalewska comes from Świebodzice. She graduated in Polish studies from the University of Wrocław and worked as a teacher and deputy head of a high school. She was a councilor, deputy mayor of Świdnica County and an education manager.
In the years 2007-2019 she was a member of the Sejm, where she worked, among others, in the Committee for Education and the European Union. In 2015, she became the Minister of National Education, carrying out the education reform. Since 2019, she has been a member of the European Parliament, where she works in the Committee for Environmental Protection and the Committee for Agriculture. She is the founder of the working group on CO2 sinks.
